The Altona Gators Senior Teams compete in the BIG V League Competition, a semi professional Basketball League administered by Basketball Victoria.

As a Club, we strive to provide opportunities for our Players to transition from our Junior Program to our Senior Program.

The Youth League Competitions provide an opportunity for younger athletes Aged 23 years & Under to Represent our Gators Club.

In 2024 Our Youth League Women’s Team will again be lead by Head Coach Kate Coffey and compete in the Victorian Youth Championship Women’s Competition, the Premier Youth League Competition in Victoria.

After winning the Youth League Division One Women’s Championship in 2016, the team was promoted to the Championship Division where they have consistently made finals.

The Youth Championship Women will look to build on their consecutive seasons of reaching the finals in the top Youth League Competition.

In 2024 our Youth League One Men will again be led by Head Coach Jason Bryant will strive to be one of the best teams in the competition, not to mention the most exciting.

The Youth League Men play an exciting brand of basketball and inspire many of our Younger Male Players to strive to reach their basketball goals.

Many former players from our Youth League Program have gone on to play in our Senior Teams and College Basketball in the United States.

We have also had several players who have represented Victoria and Australia.

In 2024 our Division One Senior Women will again be led by Head Coach Randy Shanklin.

The Ladies had a good finish to the 2023 Season in BIG V  despite just missing out on Finals after being promoted up to Division 1 after finishing Runners-Up in Division 2 of the 2022 BIG V Season to Mornington Breakers.

The Senior Women will look to improve on 2023 and strive to make Finals in BIG V Division 1 in 2024.

In 2024 Our Division One Senior Men will again be lead by Head Coach Josh Turton as they step up into BIG V Division 1.

The Senior Players are looking to build on their success from the Division 2 2023 Championship Winning campaign aiming to make an impact in the much tougher Division 1 Competition.

All our Gators Senior teams are led by dedicated Coaches and our Teams are comprised of very talented players who are committed to success.

Our Senior Teams also support community initiatives and raise funds to help causes throughout the season.

While our Senior Gator Teams play all their Home Games at the Altona Sports Centre (The Swamp) on Saturday Nights or Sunday Afternoons, they also play away against Teams from all over Victoria. 

All Our Senior Gator Teams play an exciting brand of basketball and we encourage our entire basketball supporters and wider community to attend our Home Games to see plenty of great Action.

Gators supporters have a lot of fun and excitement to look forward to this season as all of our teams bring an exciting brand of basketball to grace “The Swamp”.
